- Stain: Honey (Wiping Stain)
- Wood: Cherry
- Glaze Color: Black
- Glaze Method: Dry Wipe Method (DW)
- Glaze Intensity: Light (LG)
This method utilizes a brush, rag or spray gun to apply glaze to the entire face and profiled areas of the product. The Glaze is wiped away with a dry cotton cloth, leaving the glaze build up at the desired level of intensity.
This method will alter the appearance of the original color between the front and back side of the product, and therefore it becomes necessary to glaze all sheet stock, refacing stock, moldings and accent components.
*You must select either “Light” or “Heavy” intensity. The difference is the amount of glaze build-up left in the corners on the center panel.
Wiping stains are applied by spraying the stain onto the product and immediately wiping off the excess material with a rag. This process is by far the most common finishing method in the wood industry.
Common Wood Species and Grade combinations when using this stain color:
- Cherry – (Select/Premium Grade)
- Cherry – No Sap – (Natural/Standard Grade)
- Cherry – (Rustic Grade)
Photosensitive Darkening Process
It is natural for Cherry, Lyptus & Mahogany wood to darken over time due to the natural photosensitive darkening process. For these wood species, we recommend ordering new samples if the current date exceeds the "Ship Date" by more than 1 year.
