Door Dimensions of Wood Species Pictured: 12” W x 18” H
Natural characteristics common within this species will be monitored under closer quality guidelines than with our Natural/Standard grade.
This grade will be uniform in color throughout and will be grain matched, resulting in a more consistent grain pattern. Sap, which might appear in the profiled areas, is allowed in small amounts. A smaller percentage of pin knots, mineral, and gum pockets will be allowed on the face and in the profiled areas with voids allowed in the gum pockets.
We feel this grade is acceptable for use with a Natural/Clear Coat (no stain) finish, but may be enhanced with a light cherry colored stain. To reduce the likelihood of a blotchy finish, we highly recommend a “Spray No Wipe” stain process, not a Wiping stain process when using this species.
The veneer center panel is approximately .220″ (5.6mm) thick and has an “A” grade face with a #1 back on an MDF core. This species is prone to darken as it ages.
Special Note About Photosensitive Darkening
Due to the natural photosensitive darkening process that occurs with Cherry, Lyptus, Mahogany and Sapele, we advise that you finish these products immediately upon receiving.
If a color variation transpires, simply exposing the product to direct natural sunlight will help to result in a more even shading. Traces of shadowing (darkening) may be visible, and considered acceptable, on the back sides of product.
Disclaimer for Color
Actual product color and detail may vary due to individual computer preferences and monitor settings. We highly recommend ordering an actual product sample of the species and stain color to eliminate any confusion.
