This unique species will have many variations allowed. Mineral and knots are common. Color variations may range in the sapwood areas from white to grayish brown. This product may include both heartwood and sapwood. Knot size and the percentage of minerals and knots are not allowed to be specified by the customer. All materials, which may include some minor checking, will be structurally sound.
In an effort to utilize as many natural characteristics as possible and to improve yield, some knots may have voids and some “Canyon Knots” may be partially filled, but no visible light will show through. Occasional worm holes are allowed.
Knots are a characteristic of Rustic Grade, however, they are difficult to include on moldings less than 1 ½” wide because they substantially weaken the molding. When molding is less than 1 ½” wide, WalzCraft will try to maintain a Rustic Grade look without the use of knots.
Note: All Wood Species Samples are shown with a Natural / Clear Coat (No Stain) Finish and will look different when ordered unfinished.
