Natural characteristics common within this species are allowed, which results in a mixture of mostly sapwood and small amounts of heartwood.
The “curly” or “rapid” grain of this species will be blended throughout the product. A small percentage of minerals will be allowed on the face and in profiled areas.
We recommend a Natural/Clear Coat (no stain) whenever using this species so that the curly character does not get masked over by the stain color. If a stain color is required, we highly recommend a light-colored “Spray No Wipe” stain process, not a Wiping stain process when using this species.
