Oak – White – Quarter Sawn (Heavy Ray/Flake) – Natural / Standard Grade

Wood Species / Grade Description

Weight: 2.906 Lb/Sq. Ft (Based on 3/4″ thickness)

This species can be compared to the Natural grade White Oak with the only difference being the way it is cut at the sawmill. Quarter Sawn is achieved by cutting at right angles to the circumference of the tree producing a heavy ray/flake like look on the face of the lumber.

When manufacturing Oak Quarter Sawn products in solid wood or veneer, WalzCraft strives to include an even distribution of a heavy ray/flake like look throughout the face of the product only.

This grade is carefully matched to assure that 100% of the panel staves and 100% of the Stile and Rail parts have easily apparent Quarter Sawn rays/flakes.

Highly recommended when using a Natural/Clear Coat (no stain) to light stain color.
