Oak – White – Rift Sawn (Straight Grain – No Quarter Sawn) – (Natural / Standard Grade)

Wood Species / Grade Description

Weight: 2.906 Lb/Sq. Ft (Based on 3/4″ thickness)

This species can be compared to the Natural grade White Oak with the only difference being the way it is cut at the sawmill. Rift Sawn (Straight Grain) is achieved by a cut that is midway between the plain and quarter sawn method. This cut gives each piece a thin pencil-line or combed look, otherwise known as a straight grain look.

This grade is carefully matched to assure that 100% of the panel staves and 100% of the Stile and Rail Parts have Straight Grain with no Quarter Sawn Rays/Flakes

Highly recommended when using a Natural/Clear Coat (no stain) to light stain color.

Note: All Wood Species Samples are shown with a Natural / Clear Coat (No Stain) Finish and will look different when ordered unfinished.
