Natural characteristics common within this species are allowed which will result in a reddish-brown blend of heartwood.

Quarter Sawn is achieved by cutting at a right angle to the circumference of the tree producing a flake-like or “Ribboning” look on the face of the lumber.

This grade is most desirable for a medium to dark stain color.

Special Note About Photosensitive Darkening

Due to the natural photosensitive darkening process that occurs with Cherry, Lyptus, Mahogany and Sapele, we advise that you finish these products immediately upon receiving.

If a color variation transpires, simply exposing the product to direct natural sunlight will help to result in a more even shading. Traces of shadowing (darkening) may be visible, and considered acceptable, on the back sides of product.
