Mortise & Tenon Cabinet Doors

Traditional Mortise & Tenon Kitchen

Mortise & Tenon (Cope & Stick) Cabinet Doors

Traditional Mortise & Tenon Cabinet Doors are the most popular type of cabinet door construction within the woodworking industry. This method of construction is standard in many kitchen designs, refacing projects, furniture pieces, and other applications because of its flexibility in design. Options range anywhere from simple to complex and contemporary to traditional.

WalzCraft Traditional Mortise & Tenon Doors can be ordered in many ways to create unique Raised Panel designs or the classic Shaker Cabinet Doors. Our commitment to offering a large variety of features allows the highest level of customization within the industry. Traditional door styles most commonly have a solid wood raised or veneered flat center panel with a square or arched top design. Alternative features include prepped for glass (designer glass is also available), applied moldings, mullion designs, lattice center panels, and louvers. Mortise & Tenon Solid Wood Door Styles

Solid Wood Door Styles

The Door Style is the basic shape of the frame of the door. WalzCraft offers all of the most common square, arch, and liberty designs in many configurations. Our standard offering also includes many rare styles that can help create a lasting and unique product.

Mortise & Tenon Veneer Flat Panel Door Styles

Veneer Flat Panel Door Styles

Our standard offering of Veneered Flat Panel Door Styles includes the popular square, arched, and many other unique styles. The distinguishing factor of the these Door Styles is that the center panel is a 1/4” thick flat veneer panel.

Stile & Rail Profiles

The Stile & Rail Profile of a Mortise & Tenon Door is the inside profile (or detail) for the frame of the cabinet door. Another name for this profile is the Cope & Stick Profile of the inside edge.

WalzCraft offers over 50 different designs of Stile & Rail Profiles as well as matching profiles that are designed for a glass insert. Beyond the more traditional designs are Mirrored Joint Profiles, Old World Profiles, and profiles engineered to be used with Applied Molding.

Center Panel Profiles

Center Panel profile options are available in a range of designs from subtle and classic to innovative and creative. Most center panels are 3/8″ or 3/4″ thick solid wood or MDF, and are available in “Traditional” Raised Panel, Recessed Raised Panel, and Reversed Solid Center Panel (PR324-RVSCP).

Most Raised Panel profile designs are available in different reveal widths to satisfy both your design and functional needs. A common functional example is when the height of your drawer front does not allow for the use of a wider reveal profile used on a door. In most cases, you would choose a center panel profile from the same Design Family that has a smaller reveal or choose to use our Reversed (Flat) Solid Wood Panel (PR324-RVSP).

Outside Edge Profiles

WalzCraft offers 160+ Outside Edge profile options for “Traditional” Cabinet Doors & Drawer Fronts.

Finish Sanding

The WalzCraft standard is to finish / fladder sand all of its products to at least a 180 grit finish sand. Most WalzCraft doors are orbital sanded on both the front and back sides. All cross grain scratches are removed from the face of each door. Each door is then fladder sanded / denibbed on the front and backsides to remove any raised grain and to lightly break any sharp edges. This results in minimal prep work upon delivery for in house finishing.

All Finish Sanding is included at no additional charge.

Flexible Stile & Rail Width

Traditional construction also allows the added benefit of customizing Stile & Rail widths beyond the 2 ¼” standard, to allow for a higher end look without the added cost. Reducing Stile & Rail widths on Traditional, Old World, Mitered, and MDF/RTF doors give you the ability to order doors smaller than the printed minimum size.

The following Stile & Rail part sizes for Traditional, Old World, Adventure Series (ASTP), and MDF/RTF products will not be subject to additional charges: 1½”, 1¾”, 2″, 2¼”, 2½”, 2¾”, 3″, 3¼”, 3½”, 3¾”, 4″, 4¼”, 4½”, 4¾”, 5″, 5¼”, 5½”, 5¾”, 6″, 7″, 8″, 9″, and 10″.

Expedite/Remake

When placing an order with WalzCraft, you have the option to run the product through the manufacturing process under our (SL) Standard Lead Time Schedule or our (EX) Expedited Schedule.

If WalzCraft makes a mistake on your order we will expedite those items, by producing them on our Expedited Order Schedule. Replacement items are then shipped out to you, via the shipping method originally elected for the order, at no additional charge.

Design Fexibility

Traditional Stile & Rail, Center Panel, and Outside Edge options can be interchanged at no additional cost, with a door style number designated for each door style.

Traditional door styles are available in many standard and exotic wood species and are priced by door style and species chosen.

Pinless

WalzCraft’s Traditional Mortise & Tenon Doors are professionally crafted using a ‘pinless’ construction method, providing a more organic look and eliminating the use of pins in door joints – ultimately providing the highest level of cabinet door available.
