Raising Awareness & Funds for Alzheimer’s

WalzCraft is raising awareness and funds for Alzheimer’s care, support, and research by sponsoring and participating in the 2026 Walk to End Alzheimer’s and #ENDALZ FEST. Every single dollar raised at both events will go directly to the Walk to End Alzheimer’s and the Alzheimer’s Association to help fight Alzheimer’s and provide resources and support to those affected by Alzheimer’s disease in our community. Both events will be held in La Crosse, WI.

Walk To End Alzheimer’s – WALZ WALKERS

The WalzCraft “Walz Walkers” are joining other local teams in the 2026 Walk to End Alzheimer’s – La Crosse. The walk is taking place on September 19, 2026, at Riverside Park in La Crosse, WI. We will be walking in memory of our owner, Richard Walz, and all WalzCraft employees and family members who have dealt with this terrible disease. SolidTone Paint Touch-Up Markers

WalzCraft has expanded its line of finishing products with 20 new SolidTone Paint Touch-Up Markers, each designed to match our most popular SolidTone Paint colors. These high-pigmented valve markers offer superior coverage and color accuracy. They’re ideal for minor touch-ups and small restoration work on cabinets, furniture, and other components.

Our Touch-Up Markers are color-fast and quick-drying, providing instant results without the need for a topcoat. The pigmented formula effectively blocks out imperfections and hides scratches.

How to Use

To cover scratches, stroke in the direction of the scratch. To cover worn areas, stroke in the direction of the wood grain. Rub off excess color with a soft cloth. Please put the cap back on to avoid drying out. Markers have a one-year shelf life and should be stored between 50-100° F.

Build My Future 2026: Driftless Area

Inspiring the Next Generation of Skilled Trades

WalzCraft was proud to once again participate in Build My Future: Driftless Area, an annual hands-on career exploration event hosted by the La Crosse Area Builders’ Association at the Onalaska Omni Center.

Now in its fourth year, the event welcomed over 1,300 high school students from across the region. Students experienced a full day in the skilled trades, with opportunities to operate machinery, weld, lay brick, level concrete, and build structures—giving them real exposure to career paths they may not have otherwise considered.

Events like Build My Future play an important role in helping students explore alternatives to traditional post-secondary education. By providing hands-on experiences, they help spark interest in rewarding, high-demand careers within the skilled trades.

At the WalzCraft booth, students built mini mitered cabinet door frames, offering a glimpse into the craftsmanship and precision that goes into our products.

To add to the excitement, WalzCraft also hosted a giveaway featuring three custom mahogany cutting boards paired with Target gift cards. Congratulations to the winners!

We’re grateful to be part of an event that continues to grow and make a meaningful impact on the future workforce. Thank you to all of our team members who helped make this year’s event a success!

KBIS 2026 Recap

The Kitchen & Bath Industry Show (KBIS) 2026 brought the industry to Orlando in a big way. Design & Construction Week—home to KBIS and IBS—welcomed 117,000 registered industry professionals, with 2,250 exhibitors across 1.15 million net square feet of exhibits. For WalzCraft, it was the perfect setting to connect face-to-face, talk shop, and help visitors compare door styles and details in person—because sometimes one look (and one touch) answers what a photo can’t.

Who Visited Our Booth: New Connections & Familiar Faces

One of our biggest takeaways from KBIS 2026 was how many attendees were discovering WalzCraft for the first time. Many professionals came to the show looking for full cabinet lines. After stepping into our gallery-style booth and viewing more than 40 cabinet door and drawer front samples, conversations quickly shifted toward how our custom components could integrate into their existing cabinet programs.

At the same time, we were grateful to see many current WalzCraft customers stop by. They shared feedback, explored new styles, and discussed upcoming projects—conversations that help us continue refining our product lineup to better serve cabinetmakers, refacers, and designers.

WalzCraft is excited to announce our new Tinted Natural (TN) Finish, specially developed for Select Grade Red Oak. This unique finish features a custom-tinted sealer and clear top coat that helps minimize the red and pink undertones found in Red Oak, giving it a lighter, more neutral look—similar to White Oak.

As White Oak becomes more difficult to source, our Tinted Natural finish provides an excellent alternative without compromising on appearance or quality.

October is Manufacturing Month, and the first Friday of the month is Manufacturing Day. MFG Day promotes modern manufacturing and the importance it has on local, national, and global economies. As a manufacturer, WalzCraft is proud to provide jobs in the La Crosse community and build high-quality products.

This year, MFG Day landed on October 3rd, 2025. To celebrate, WalzCraft provided custom t-shirts to our dedicated Team Members to thank them for their hard work. The celebration continued with a company-wide catered lunch.

Manufacturing Mania 2025

Career Exploration at WalzCraft

On August 21–22, 2025, WalzCraft welcomed two energetic groups of students to our facility as part of Western Technical College’s Manufacturing Mania summer program. This hands-on event offered middle school students (Grade 7-9) the opportunity to explore careers in advanced manufacturing, robotics, and engineering technologies, while getting a behind-the-scenes look at real production environments.

Led by WTC instructors in advanced manufacturing, robotics, and agricultural business, the students toured our manufacturing operations and learned how custom cabinet components are made—from concept to completion. The visit gave students a glimpse into the technical skills, creativity, and teamwork required in today’s modern manufacturing jobs.

The program is designed to immerse middle school-aged children in all of the options that junior colleges have to support local manufacturers, and to connect students with the necessary skills in a real work environment. We were proud to participate in this program, helping young minds explore rewarding careers in manufacturing while encouraging curiosity, innovation, and hands-on problem-solving.

AWFS Fair 2025 Recap

WalzCraft proudly stood out as the only custom cabinet door manufacturer exhibiting among 500 companies at the AWFS Fair 2025 in Las Vegas.

Held every two years, the Association of Woodworking & Furnishing Suppliers (AWFS) Fair is one of the largest events in the woodworking industry. This year’s theme, “Thrive in 2025,” focused on innovation, education, and growth for cabinetmakers, woodworkers, and industry professionals.

Booth Highlights

Our booth drew attention from woodworking professionals nationwide—many discovering WalzCraft for the first time. Several mentioned they recognized our brand from magazine ads, proving that consistent industry marketing makes a lasting impression.

Our Nexus-style cabinet doors were a major draw. Attendees shared how they had tried to replicate the style in-house but found that outsourcing to WalzCraft was the most reliable way to achieve the quality and detail they wanted.

We also featured our new Tinted Natural Finish on Select Grade Red Oak, which impressed visitors looking for a more accessible alternative to White Oak. This finish delivers a similar look while helping customers avoid the rising costs and limited supply of White Oak.

Our knowledgeable team was on hand to answer questions, share samples, and connect with both new and longtime customers. Across the board, attendees had great things to say about WalzCraft’s product quality, customer service, and reliability.

WalzCraft is thrilled to announce the latest expansion of our Nexus Slim Shaker Door and Drawer Front options. Introducing profiles NP413 with 1 1/4″ wide Stiles & Rails and NP414 with 1 1/2″ Stiles & Rails. These new options offer even more versatility and customization for your cabinetry projects. New Abiqua Pine 3D Laminate

WalzCraft recently added Abiqua Pine to our 3D Laminate (RTF) finish options. Abiqua Pine is a wood “look” 3D Laminate with a slight texture. It features linear grain with a mix of misty white, gray, and hazy blue undertones. We’ve also added a new Signature Series Design in Abiqua Pine. The S1015 Biscayne is a 1-piece door and drawer front with a beveled Stile/Rail profile, Outside Edge, and a flat center panel.

Availability

Our CPFR 3700 features 1/4″ wide beads and is available on material 11/32″ thick or greater. This includes:

Frame and Panel Doors / Drawer Fronts using RVSCP-PR324 (CPFR applied to Center Panel Only)
- Frame and Panel Doors with RVSCP-PR324 are available in 1/32″ width increments when ordering CPFR 3700

Nexus Cabinet Doors

WalzCraft’s Nexus Doors and Drawer Fronts offer a fresh take on the classic shaker style with narrower stiles and rails. This design is known in the cabinet industry as a Slim Shaker, Skinny Shaker, or Thin Shaker. Our version includes a variety of square, beaded, and beveled profiles that range from 1/4″ to 1 1/2″ wide. Nexus Cabinet Doors have solid wood stiles, rails, and outside edge molding with mitered corners. The flat center panel is available in plywood with wood veneer face/back with MDF core or raw MDF for painted products.

Our Nexus series is also available with Continuous Bead (Reeded) Applied Molding applied to the face of the door or drawer front. We offer two continuous bead options with either a beaded or square shaker outside edge. Beaded or Reeded Cabinet Doors provide a great way to add texture and visual impact to custom furniture, vanities, and more.

Due to the popularity of Slim Shaker and Reeded Cabinet Doors, we’ve added thirteen new Nexus Signature Series Designs to help you visualize the new options. As always, WalzCraft’s Signature Series Designs are available as shown or customized to fit your project.

Pre-Primed and UV Coated Plywood Options

WalzCraft is now offering 3/4″ Pre-Primed Veneer Core Plywood and various thicknesses of UV Coated Maple Veneer Core Plywood.

Pre-Primed Plywood

3/4″ thick Pre-Primed Plywood is available primed on 2 sides or primed on 1 side with UV coated Maple back. This versatile material is lightweight, stable, and easy to machine making it a great option for painted cabinet box components. The primed surfaces of our Pre-Primed plywood can be finished by the customer, or WalzCraft can apply a SolidTone® finish.

UV Coated Maple Plywood

UV Coated Maple Veneer Core Plywood is available in the following thicknesses:

¼” Thick Veneer Core Plywood – B4 “B” face grade wood veneer, veneer core, with a #4 back. The “B” grade face is pre-finished with a clear UV coating, while the #4 back is left raw and is not available finished.

½” Thick Veneer Core Plywood – B2 “B” face grade wood veneer, veneer core, with a #2 back. Both sides are pre-finished with a clear UV coating.

¾” Thick Veneer Core Plywood – B2 “B” face grade wood veneer, veneer core, with a #2 back. Both sides are pre-finished with a clear UV coating.

UV Coated Maple is also available on our Style 100DW Doweled Drawer Boxes with a matching PVC Edgeband (TE10) on the Top Edge of the box. Options include 1/2″ or 3/4″ sidewalls and 1/4″ or 1/2″ bottom panels. Since the maple already has a clear UV coating no additional finishing is necessary.

Sand Dollar is light beige mixed with a little gray, also known as “greige”. This neutral color has the slightest green undertone and more depth than other beige paint colors.

SolidTone® and SolidTone® WoodGrain Finishes

Our SolidTone® finish is a pigmented, acid Catalyzed Conversion Varnish that provides superior coverage for your painting needs. Conversion Varnishes have greater scratch resistance and chemical resistance than other popular finishes like Polyurethane or Lacquer. SolidTone^® WoodGrain finish is formulated the same as a SolidTone^®, but the priming step is removed.

Note: Actual product color and detail may vary due to individual computer preferences and monitor settings. We highly recommend ordering a color block or product sample of the species and stain color to eliminate any confusion.

WalzCraft Owner, Richard Walz, dies at 68

With great sadness, we announce that Richard (Dick) Walz, 68, passed away on November 6^th, 2022. Dick fought a long and courageous battle with Alzheimer’s disease and passed away peacefully at his Onalaska, WI home, surrounded by his loved ones.

Always in tune with the industry, Dick often told the staff at WalzCraft, “If we listen to our customers, they will take us where we need to go”. He embraced that concept, repeated it often to his Team Members, and with that shared vision worked shoulder to shoulder with them to build WalzCraft into the business it is today.

Dick was born on October 4^th, 1954, and was raised on a family farm in Glen Haven, WI. There, he developed a strong work ethic, learned the value of hard work, and began a lifelong passion for woodworking. Dick graduated from Western Technical College (1973) and started his own construction company. In 1982 he started his manufacturing journey at Cabinet Factory Inc. (later renamed WalzCraft) and became the majority owner in 1987. Dick had a passion for providing customers with high-quality products, and a variety of choices. He loved improving a process to give guaranteed results and talking at length with Team Members to make these improvements. Those close to Dick would describe him as an incredible man and a visionary leader who was dedicated to his family and his work at WalzCraft.

Dick was preceded in death by his beloved wife of 31 years, Jane Lynn Walz; his parents Gerald and Anna Marie Walz, and sister SuzAnne Taylor. He is survived by his son Bradley Walz (Britni), two stepsons Jess Dzurko (Ashley) and Ross Dzurko (Lindsey); and six siblings, Barbara Ekblad, Paul Walz, Larry (Joanne) Walz, Tim (Tracy) Walz, Mary Rae Walz, and Michael (Colleen) Walz. Along with five grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.

During Dick’s long ordeal with Alzheimer’s, his son Bradley was faithfully at his side. In 2020, Bradley became President of WalzCraft after working 16 years with the company, fulfilling Dick’s vision that WalzCraft remains a family-owned company that would continue for years to come.

Dick was dedicated to giving back to the community. He was recognized as a Distinguished Alumni of Western Technical College and a Market Leader in the Wood Industry. He was a proud father and grandfather that loved his family more than anything else. While he will be missed dearly, we will forever cherish the time we spent together.

WalzCraft’s 40th Anniversary

40 Years – Celebration and Reflection

The year is 1982. The Commodore 64 home computer hits the market, “E.T. the Extra-Terrestrial” comes to the big screen, Sony launches the compact disc player, and Michael Jackson’s “Thriller” album is released. That same year, in Brice Prairie, WI, Cabinet Factory Inc. (later renamed WalzCraft) was founded. From its humble beginnings with a handful of employees working in a small pole shed, the company has grown to 260 dedicated employees in a 360,000 square foot state-of-the-art facility. On May 12^th, 2022 we reach a major milestone: our 40^th Anniversary. In addition to celebrating where we are, we also take this opportunity to reflect on how we got here.

After incorporation, the 1980s saw strong growth for the young company. By 1989 we employed over 50 people and had moved twice to accommodate the expansion, ending up at our current location in La Crosse, WI. The 90s brought the addition of CNC routers, a 22-page color brochure, a company website, and more square footage totaling 176,000. In 2002 the company name changed to WalzCraft. That same decade brought multiple building additions, a flatline finishing system, more machinery, and the launch of the Signature Series doors. Since then, the Refacing Training Program began, Saw Stops appeared, and lean manufacturing efforts ramped up to increase production efficiencies.

We could not have become a nationally recognized leader in the industry without our dedicated team members, loyal customers, and valued suppliers. As we celebrate 40 years in business, we want to thank everyone that has contributed to this achievement. We look forward to seeing what the future holds, and appreciate all of you being a part of the journey.
