Center Panel Profiles

View Center Panel Profiles for Cabinet Doors in our Online Catalog.

Center Panel profile options are available in a range of designs from subtle and classic to innovative and creative. Most center panels are 3/8″ or 3/4″ thick solid wood, available in both Raised Panel looks as well as Reversed (Flat) Solid Wood Panel look (PR324-RVSCP) such as commonly used in Shaker Cabinet Door designs.

Most Raised Panel profile designs are available in different reveal widths to satisfy both your design and functional needs. A common functional example is when the height of your drawer front does not allow for the use of a wider reveal profile used on a door. In most cases, you would choose a center panel profile from the same Design Family that has a smaller reveal or choose to use our Reversed (Flat) Solid Wood Panel (PR324-RVSCP).

In addition to the Standard Raised and Reversed Panels, we also offer Solid Wood Recessed Raised Panels and profiles specifically designed of our, which feature deeper profiles.

  • All Center Panel profiles are drawn to scale
  • Choice of Center Panel profile may be specified at NO additional cost
  • Center Panel profiles marked with a “C” indicate Curved Product availability
  • All Center Panel Profiles are available in MDF when using Paint Grade Stile & Rail material
  • See Center Panel Only specifications for ordering Center Panels Only (CPO) in wood or MDF

Curved Cabinet Doors with Applied Molding

Curved Cabinet Door with Applied Molding S549 Carlton

Curved Cabinet Door with Applied Molding S549 Carlton

The S549 Carlton Signature Series convex door highlights the intricate details that can be incorporated into curved cabinet doors. The raised panel is complimented with an applied molding frame, and a tiered outside edge profile. When using applied molding doors on a project, adding a matching curved door can create a totally custom look and feel to the project. Curved products are gaining popularity in vanities, curio cabinets, dressers, corner cabinets in kitchens, and many other custom projects.

The Carlton door is constructed with the square SR100 Traditional Stile and Rail profile with the 102 applied molding. All of WalzCraft’s convex and concave doors are built using state-of-the-art technology and equipment. The rails are custom laminated using solid wood material, and the stiles and center panel are constructed with solid wood staves. As the leader in the industry, WalzCraft offers the most standard offerings for profile choices, door styles, radii, and wood species. Along with raised panel doors and drawer fronts, WalzCraft also offers curved moldings, drawer boxes, frame and mullion doors, crown, and both square and beaded face frames. WalzCraft can even prefit inset doors and drawer fronts to face frames. All of these products are available at incredibly competitive prices!

The S549 Carlton is shown with a raised panel drawer front. As with all Signature Series Designs, the drawer front style can be modified to better suit the needs of the project. The door and drawer front pictured are constructed of Natural/Standard Grade Cherry with a Java Combination stain. This wood species, grade, and finish combination is one of WalzCraft’s Approximate Melamine & Laminate Matches. This means several popular Melamine, Laminate, and PVC Edgebanding colors approximately match the color of this door. Using wood species and stain combinations with approximate melamine matches allows cabinet makers to order the cabinet doors, moldings, and other wood components prefinished and build their cabinet boxes with the matching melamine.

Half Lap & Varying Outside Edges

Half Lap Edge for Cabinet Doors

A pair of cabinet doors or a bank of drawer fronts can be easily paired by choosing a Half Lap Outside Edge option or by using a combination of Varying Outside Edge Profiles.

A Half Lap Edge uses a rabbet cut on one edge of each product so that the edges can overlap and fit together. Alternatively, a product may be ordered with Varying Outside Edge Profiles. This is common with a bank of drawer fronts that may have a profiled edge on the stiles with a square (D7) edge on the top and/or bottom rails so that the drawers can be butted up to one another.

Using Additional Outside Edge Profiles

All of WalzCraft’s cabinet door and drawer front styles include the cost of one Outside Edge Profile; however, a different Outside Edge Profile can be designated for each of the four sides of your product.

It is common to butt together two products with a square (D7) edge, while other scenarios call for various Outside Edge Profiles along each edge of the product. Please see our catalog specifications to view the correct abbreviations for placing your quote or order.

Half Lap Edge Option

Half Lap Doors are to be ordered as a pair and edged so that they fit together like a puzzle. Once installed, a Half Lap cabinet door pair will look like the right stile of the left door is butted up to the left stile of the right door. To create this look, a 3/8″ wide x 3/8″ high rabbet cut is applied to the front side of one door and the back side of the other door.

This requires one non-standard part, depending on which door is to open first in the pair. Please see our online catalog specifications to view the correct designations for placing your quote or order for Half Lap Edge cabinet door pairs.
